Dannieh Municipalities Union Visited Mmu
The President of Dannieh Municipalities Union in Lebanon and co-chair of UCLG-MEWA, Mr. Mohamad Saadie and the accompanying delegation paid a courtesy visit to Marmara Municipalities Union on August 10, 2018.
The President of Dannieh Municipalities Union Mohamed Saadie cited ‘’Memorandum of Understanding’’ which had been signed between MMU and Dannieh Municipalities Union on January, 2015. He also expressed their wish to make stronger fraternity relationship between Turkey and Lebanon. Saadie mentioned that the streets in Lebanon have been renamed in Turkish. As a message of companionship he added ‘’We became a family. You are our brothers. Our collaboration should go on.’’
Mr. M. Cemil Arslan, Secretary General of MMU, thanked to Mr. Mohamed Saadie for their support and visit after the treacherous coup attempt on July 15 in Turkey. He emphasized that MMU very grateful for the visit of Dannieh Municipalities Union and open to collaboration. Mr. Salim Korkmaz, General Coordinator of UCLG-MEWA, voiced their wish to develop collaboration with MMU. The visit ended with expressions of goodwill and hope for the future.
