Marmara Urban Forum (MARUF21) Report Published

The report of Marmara Urban Forum (MARUF21), which was held online for the second time on 1-3 October 2021 with the participation of 500+ speakers from 52 countries and 8000+ viewers, is published.

The report of the Marmara Urban Forum (MARUF21), which provides a basis for the exchange of knowledge, experience and opportunities between the public and private sectors, non-governmental organizations, universities, local governments and all other relevant stakeholders of the city, and evaluates different approaches to urban services and urban management in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, is now available.

In the report, MARUF21 is introduced in the form of WH Questions, then the axes and topics that MARUF21 focused on, the structure of the forum and notes on the planning process are presented.

Session summaries, prominent issues and solution proposals were shared on the 6 main axes of MARUF21, which was organized with the main theme of "re-think, co-act", consisting of healthy, resilient, inclusive, creative, innovative and sustainability, and 108 sessions organized under 111 topics ranging from infrastructure to food, from housing to smart cities, from quality of life to urban networks can be found in the report.

After presenting the statistics on MARUF21, the achievements in terms of content and participation, international networking and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were underlined. In the final evaluation section under the heading of "Points to be Improved", an internal assessment of what needs to be improved with feedback from MARUF21 participants and organizing teams, in line with MARUF's core principles of participatory, transparent and inclusive are relayed.

In addition, at the end of the report, specially for the digital version, two special events organized as part of MARUF21, "Mapping the Marmara Region: A Preliminary Biopsy" and "Play Marmara 'Sea'" reports and outputs are presented as separate appendices.

MARUF21 Report, which was created with the valuable contributions of the session rapporteurs who followed the program during the Forum and the meticulous work of MARUF21 coordinators and creative team, is a reference source on many topics relevant to the city by focusing on "cities developing solutions".
